Exhausting, but epic.
You see I went to this thing called Street Invaders. It's this youth missions program. The first week is called boot camp, and you're basically trained the entire week. We have chapel three times a day for two hours each session. Which probably doesn't sound like very much fun but it was. Amazing things happened at boot camp that I can't really explain without sounding completely religious, but it was amazing.
For the second week I was doing missions. In the morning we helped out at this day camp for three hours, then proceeded to head back the the church and eat, then pull ivy for two hours. After that we would get a couple hours of rest, proceeded by downtown, in which we would put up free prayer signs, and walk around with a huge cross on our back.
The cross was fun...
You see, when people see something like a person downtown walking around with a 15 foot cross on their back you can't ignore them. Sometimes you can't ignore them in a good way, sometimes you can't ignore them in a bad way, but none the less you can't ignore them. We got into a lot of interesting conversations with people.
I can't wait until next year.
